POSITION
Summary:
Entry level position responsible for monitoring of various production machines in support of producing fastener components.
Training to consist of learning how to set-up and run various production machines.
Responsibilities:
Training outcome is to become a Roller or Header Operator I within approximately 15 months.
Ensures full compliance with all Agrati, Inc.
and government Environmental Health & Safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Implement lean manufacturing concepts, including continuous improvement and 5S.
Performs the monitoring of production machines, such as headers or rollers; possible set-up and troubleshooting of machines' tooling.
Operates multiple machines; must be able to do the physical work of setting up/tearing down the tooling.
Assists with inspecting components to the proper customer and production specifications.
Assists other operators with production activities such as component weight counting, lubing parts, changing oil in machines, parts movement between locations, logging, dumping pans of parts, etc.
Performs housekeeping duties on a regular basis as necessary.
Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Keep machines clean & free of foreign material; will not leave tooling lying around in the work area that could cause personal injury or machine damage in the case of machine tool failure.
Ability to learn, use & read micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, ring gauges, optical comparator, basic hand tools, blueprint reading.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ability to take instructions and constructive criticism from the Trainer, Group Leader, Supervisor or Manager.
Willing to work all required, mandatory overtime.
Willing to transfer to another shift, if business conditions warrant such a transfer.
Prolonged standing, repetitive lifting, dumping of up to 35-40 lbs EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES:
Must be mechanically inclined; good math skills, including metrics.
Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred, 1-3 years or more.
Must be familiar with or able to learn PLEX computer system and In-Process Technique.
High school diploma or confirmed GED.
Legible handwriting; read/write/understand English/ Be a team player, work independently and be self-motivated.
PC literate; able to learn all Company computer programs.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Complete Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures training of self and staff, administration of all programs, audits and corrective action plans in area.
TS-16949 Quality Systems administration and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards.
